We build strong, lasting relationships with both independent outdoor stores and big box retailers. With many years of combined experience, we are experts in the outdoor demographics of the Midwest.

Who We Are
Paul Gerten, our head honcho. Paul founded Gerten Outdoors and has been in the industry for two decades. With a background in education Paul brings a passion for spreading knowledge on how best to enjoy the outdoors. Representing brands that he knows, loves, and truly believes in Paul can make any day outside something to write home about. In addition to running the agency, he works with Face to Face as a teacher and Wilderness Program Facilitator to connect at-risk youth to the geography and history of the wild places in the midwest. He thrives on getting everyone outside to explore, camp, canoe, and make incredible campfire dinners. He resides in Minnetonka, MN with two awesome dogs and an even awesome-r wife.
Greg Martin has worked with GO for a decade as our go-to gear guy. Greg is an avid year-round outdoorsman who skis both alpine and nordic styles, climbs rock and ice, and camps whenever and wherever he can. Greg lives the adage, 'there is no bad weather, only inappropriate clothing choices.' He brings many years of experience of just plain being hard on his gear in all conditions and helps us ensure we're repping only the best. Greg is a retired Minneapolis Firefighter who lives in Minneapolis with his partner, Kari.
Like many outdoor enthusiasts, Kari discovered her love for the outdoors as a child, hiking, canoeing, and camping with her family. By the time she was sixteen she had climbed one of the seven summits, Mt. Elbrus. Kari continues to find joy outside mainly on her bicycle(s), and also alpine and Nordic skiing, rock and ice climbing, paddling, hiking and camping with a daily dose of yoga. She lives in Minneapolis with her partner Greg, and is slightly less hard on her gear than he is.
Paul Jensen has been with the agency since 2020. After a career in the business world, Jensen entered the outdoor industry with a specialty outdoor retailer in the twin cities. After a decade of experience on the sales floor and an impressive background in business he joined GO and promptly implemented our CRM system and continues to keep us structured, focused, and firing on all cylinders. If you're looking for sales data, he probably already saved and formatted the file last night. Jensen is happiest when he's hiking, biking, fishing, skiing, paddling, camping, or just OUTSIDE. He resides in Minnesota with his partner, Laurie.
Julia grew up in the woods of Michigan, moved to Chicago, and within a couple years found herself buying camping gear for a specialty outdoor retailer there. You can take the girl out of the woods, but you can't take the woods out of the girl. Her experience of selling city folks outdoor gear prompted a passion for outdoor education and finding the right gear to make the outdoors accessible and enjoyable for everyone. She's a skiier, backpacker, paddler, aspiring climber, and former homesteader. Julia recently relocated to Minnesota with her German Shepherd, King. They're enjoying exploring the new state and actively seeking dog friendly parks.

Lucia loves 3 things in life: climbing, being outside, and helping others. She has more than 10 years of rock climbing experience in all styles— trad, sport climbing, big walling, and bouldering around the world. She spent many years in the winter tundra of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula snowboarding, skiing, ice climbing, and camping. She now spends most of her time in the Red River Gorge and Michigan and is excited to bring her passion and knowledge of the great outdoors to the team! |
